Direct Import Drill Down on Working Trial Balance (Desktop)
What it is: A feature that lets you view the underlying general ledger transactions for any account on the Working Trial Balance, available when the trial balance was imported directly from a connected accounting system.
What it's for
When a trial balance is imported directly from QuickBooks, Sage Business Cloud, or Xero, Draftworx retains the individual transaction detail behind each account balance. You can then drill into any account's amount to view those transactions — useful for verifying that totals are correct and for investigating any figures that look unusual. The drill-down list can also be exported to Excel for further analysis.
How to do it
Viewing the General Ledger Drill Down
- On the Working Trial Balance, find the account amount you want to investigate (only available when the trial balance was imported via the direct import method from QuickBooks, Sage Business Cloud, or Xero).
- Hold CTRL and click the relevant amount.
- The drill-down panel opens, displaying the individual general ledger transactions that make up the account balance.
- Use the Export option in the panel to save the transaction list to Excel if needed.
